“The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it.” - Flannery O’ Connor.
We’ve all been disappointed. And I have an easy trick you can follow to never feel disappointed every again. Read close it’s just one step - the only step you’ll ever need.
Are you ready?
Step 1. Do not rely on your ego’s expectations.
Let’s draw a line between what’s true and what’s made up here. Most of the time, we have our own set of pre-structured beliefs of how situations unfold & how people should behave. That’s the thing. That’s your own opinion. No one can contend that, no one should or is compelled to subscribe to that either.
So you might be asking, “What do I do now?”
Unless you are asked, it is best to keep those expectations within your boundaries serving its purpose to define your own personal truth. This is very okay, but at the same time be open to expand your understanding & awareness towards other people’s expectations, opinions & truth, and simply experience the situation for what it is.
Because remember:
The moment you step on someone else’s truth, you allow them to step on yours.
This reminds me of the importance of suspending judgement. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
